OLYMPIC Paints and Stains brand provides MAXIMUM WEATHER-READY product for homeowners to jump-start staining season

Product allows freedom from weather forecast when planning stain projects

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa., March 30, 2016 – In northern regions of the country, deck season may seem several months away. However, if you’re waiting until April showers and cooler temperatures have passed to prepare your outdoor space for warmer months, the OLYMPIC® Paints and Stains brand recommends this: stop waiting and start staining! Olympic MAXIMUM® Stain + Sealant in One with WEATHER-READY™ application enables homeowners to stain when they want to, even if the weather isn’t perfect.

The Olympic Maximum product with Weather-Ready application can be applied after rain because it is formulated for damp-wood applications* for consistent results. And, the product is rain-ready 8-12 hours after application, which is 12-16 hours faster than typical stain products, so homeowners no longer have to fear their completed project will be ruined by unpredictable rain.

*Stain may be applied to a damp, not WET surface. Make sure there are no puddles.

In addition to its rain-ready features, Olympic Maximum stain’s unique formula offers a wider range of application temperatures, from 35 F to 90 F. “With warmer days and cooler nights in the springtime, you won’t have to worry if your stain project hasn’t yet dried before the temperature drops,” said Lia Gancas, senior brand manager, Olympic Paints and Stains.

“Our Olympic Maximum product with Weather-Ready application takes the uncertainty and hesitation out of staining,” Gancas continued. “This unique product gives homeowners and DIYers the flexibility and confidence to stain before the weather is perfect, and it provides peace of mind if unexpected rain hits after staining.”

Furthermore, Olympic Maximum Stain + Sealant in One’s clear, toner and semi-transparent colors can be applied after wood structures are cleaned or misted with water on hot days, which can help alleviate brush marks and prevent the stain from drying too quickly.

Olympic Maximum clear, toner and semi-transparent stains offer unique features that can be attributed to their core resin technology, comprising an acrylic shell and oil core that promote adhesion. The oil deeply penetrates the wood’s fibers as the acrylic builds an ultra-fine film on the surface for added water repellency and ultraviolet (UV) resistance. In addition, Olympic Maximum solid color stain comprises a self-priming, 100-percent acrylic formula that provides Weather-Ready application.

Starting at less than $34 per gallon, Olympic Maximum Stain + Sealant in One with Weather-Ready application is available at LOWE’S® stores and independent retailers across the United States.
