PPG backs first ‘Beautiful China Forum’ in Beijing

When the first 2015 Beautiful China Environment Forum recently kicked off in Beijing, China, PPG was there as the chief sponsor of this important event. More than 80 people attended the forum, including corporate executives, government officials and environmental-protection specialists, and managers and journalists from China’s mainstream media.
In the keynote address, Mike Horton, president, Asia Pacific, outlined PPG’s multi-pronged commitment to sustainability, including its importance to the long-term success of PPG and its customers, suppliers, shareholders, employees and the communities it serves. Later, he and Cathy Yan, general manager, corporate and government affairs, Asia Pacific, received the Chief Sponsor Award on behalf of PPG. Horton also joined representatives from 20 corporations to pledge their support to environmental protection by signing the Proposal from 100 Corporations After 100 Days’ Enforcement of New Rules.
Other key speakers were Liu Guozheng, secretary-general of China Forum of Environmental Journalists (CFEJ), Li Qingrui, secretary of the Policy & Regulation Department in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and Hu Jing, associate professor, Environmental Resources Law Institute at China University of Political Science and Law.
The forum will held in five other cities in China throughout the year.
