Saultain plant injury-free for two years

Employees at PPG’s industrial and automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) coatings site in Saultain, France have a good reason to celebrate. More than two years have passed since the plant recorded an injury or illness (I&I). The last I&I case occurred on May 24, 2013.

The impressive milestone is the result of a consistent and multi-pronged approach to employee and workplace safety that includes daily Safety 365 messages; safety posters that are placed throughout the plant; and training sessions that focus on safety and ergonomics. As part of a Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program, employees also analyze possible worksite risks to help protect themselves and their colleagues.

The hard work has paid off. This marks the first time that the plant has gone more than two years without an incident.

Safety improvements at the Saultain site include new safety barriers for pedestrian walkways.

Comex Painter’s Day 2015!

PPG-Comex has grown into a leading architectural coatings company in Mexico by fostering relationships with the hard-working people whose loyalty is vital to the company’s success – painters.

To celebrate these partnerships, PPG-Comex hosted the 30th Painter's Day at more than 100 sites across Mexico, including major events in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Xalapa and Temixco (Morelos). The always popular Painter's Day 2015 attracted more than 60,000 people, including 10,000 painters, for a day of fun and camaraderie.

The day pays tribute to painters, whose hands protect, beautify and bring color everywhere Comex products are used. With this in mind, PPG-Comex awarded several prizes to painters, such as trips to the Copa América in Chile. Energetic musical groups such as Internacional Sonora Santanera, Merenglass, and El Gigante de América kept guests dancing at several sites.

Plans are already underway for Painter’s Day 2016.
