The PPG Industries Foundation helps put into action the PPG Blueprint value of supporting local communities where the company operates. Its programs for U.S. employees and retirees help ensure money goes to organizations that PPG employees and retirees actively support.
Matching Gifts Program
The Foundation matches gifts of PPG employees and directors to qualified institutions of higher education, private secondary schools, cultural institutions, special education institutions, and the United Negro College Fund. The Matching Gifts program also matches employee donations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief for a period of 90 days after a declared national disaster or international disaster.

Grant Incentives for Volunteerism by PPG Employees & Retirees (GIVE) GIVE is a grants incentive program to encourage PPG employee and retiree involvement in volunteerism. The GIVE program recognizes personal involvement by active PPG employees and PPG retirees who volunteer on their own time by providing grants to eligible institutions in the U.S. It addresses the most frequently cited priorities for civic and social responsibility today. |

Public Education Leadership Community GrantsPublic Education Leadership Community Grants offer a formalized process for providing financial resources to public schools where employees are involved. Any employee may sponsor a request to the foundation for a grant request of up to $1,000 for a project that:
- Promotes systemic change;
- Cannot be paid for with tax dollars;
- Directly benefits and engages students;
- Demonstrates results that motivate students to learn;
- Total project budget is no more than $5,000.

PPG CARE Fund (Concern, Assistance & Relief for Employees)
It is a PPG priority to help meet the needs of our employees whose lives have been disrupted by disasters. The foundation has established a fund within The Pittsburgh Foundation for this purpose and money raised will be available through a Pittsburgh Foundation committee process for affected PPG employees. PPG Industries Foundation will match contributions made by PPG employees. Retirees, vendors, other business partners and members of the general public may also make non-matched donations to the fund. Contributions to the fund will be available for future disaster victims.

| 2009 National Merit Employee-Child Scholarship | National Merit Employee-Child Scholarship ProgramThis scholarship program was established for sons and daughters of PPG Industries, Inc., employees. The annual Merit-Scholarship Competition is conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), an independent, not-for-profit organization. The Merit Program's purposes are to identify and honor exceptionally able high school students. All aspects of the selection of winners and the administration of their awards are handled by NMSC. Each PPG Industries Foundation NMSC scholarship stipend is $1,500 per year for up to four years of college undergraduate study or until baccalaureate degree requirements are completed, whichever occurs first. Employee children must take the PSAT/NMSQT test and apply in the junior year of high school.
To enter your child into the 2011 PPG Industries Foundation Scholarship Program for Children of Employees (for students who will complete high school and enter college in 2011, simply follow the procedures outlined below:
- Read the scholarship program brochure in its entirety.
- Confirm that your child meets all participation requirements for the 2011 competition by marking the appropriate check boxes.
- Complete the Entry Form.
- Review the Entry Form for completeness and accuracy.
- Submit your child's entry for the 2011 competition.
- Print and retain a copy of the "Submission Confirmation" for your records.
