PPG foundation donates $10,000 to Bowling Green for educational event
The PPG Industries Foundation recently donated $10,000 to Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio, to support the Northwest Ohio Center for Excellence in STEM Education (NWO) “STEM in the Park” event. The grant was made on behalf of PPG Industries’ architectural coatings plant in nearby Huron.

PPG foundation donates $16,000 to Youth for Technology Foundation
The PPG Industries Foundation recently donated $16,000 to the Youth for Technology Foundation (YTF) in Louisville, Kentucky, to support the organization’s innovative programs that encourage positive youth development for K-12 students in underprivileged areas in the United States, Africa and Latin America. The grant was made on behalf of PPG Industries’ architectural coatings plant in Louisville.

PPG announces executive appointments
PPG Industries today announced two executive appointments. HervĂ© Tiberghien, senior director, global human resources, will become vice president, human resources, effective Feb. 28, and Chris Caruso, director, information technology, global architectural coatings, will become vice president, information technology, effective Feb. 1.

PPG Asian Paints launches first waterborne automotive refinish paint in Sri Lanka
PPG Asian Paints Lanka Ltd. announced today the launch in Sri Lanka of ENVIROBASE™ High Performance (HP) automotive refinish paints – the first eco-friendly waterborne automotive paints introduced in Sri Lanka for use by the refinishing industry. Prestige Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd. is the first PPG Asian Paints customer in Sri Lanka to convert to using the waterborne products in its operation.

PPG completes first 11 COLORFUL COMMUNITIES projects in 2015
PPG Industries announced that it has completed 11 projects around the world since launching the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES™ initiative in May as part of its global charitable efforts, and it has initiated four additional projects slated for completion in 2016. The Colorful Communities program provides PPG employee volunteers and PPG products along with financial contributions to bring color and vitality to communities where the company operates around the world.

OLYMPIC Paints by PPG honors local charity for deployed military and veterans
OLYMPIC® Paints, a brand of PPG Architectural Coatings, presented Operation Troop Appreciation with a $25,000 gift this holiday season. Operation Troop Appreciation is a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit organization that provides services and supplies to military service members and veterans.

PPG begins using chloride-based TiO2 from Henan Billions in coatings production
PPG Industries today announced it has begun using chloride-grade titanium dioxide (TiO2) produced in commercial quantities by Henan Billions Chemicals Co., Ltd., including PPG’s licensed chloride-based technology. PPG is using the TiO2 to produce standard grades of its coatings products.

PPG Industries’ industrial coatings business has introduced SPECTRACRON® 380 POLY-IOTHANE® HS (High-Solids) Series coatings, two-component polyester polyurethane enamel coatings that provide excellent corrosion resistance when applied directly to metal or over primer-coated metal surfaces.

PPG Wichita Falls flat glass plant significantly reduces fresh water consumption
PPG Industries announced that a joint wastewater-reuse project with the city of Wichita Falls, Texas, has cut fresh water consumption by as much as 50 percent per day at the company’s glass manufacturing plant located there.
